Introduction
Dear YoBit Crypto Exchange users,
We would like to share with you an unpleasant experience reported by one of Scam-Or Project’s readers involving YoBit Crypto Exchange. Due to this incident, we do not recommend using this platform for cryptocurrency transactions.
Background of the User
One reader registered on YoBit back in 2016 and was an active user, regularly performing numerous transactions. Occasionally, he participated in the DICE game, which was a requirement by the exchange for receiving tokens of new cryptocurrencies first listed on YoBit. His bets in the dice game were consistently minimal, ranging from 0.001 BTC to 0.05 BTC.
The Incident
However, there was one particular incident when he intended to place a bet of 0.038 BTC, but instead, 0.38 BTC was deducted due to what was described as a “mistake”.
At first, he believed this was an error on his part. Later, he came to realise that the issue stemmed from the exchange itself. The user attempted to resolve this problem amicably by requesting a refund through YoBit’s Technical Support.
Technical Support Response
Unfortunately, his attempts were unsuccessful. The user received no adequate responses to his requests. His messages were either ignored entirely or met with firm replies stating that the funds would not be refunded.
Below is the summary of his conversation with YoBit’s Technical Support, which he shared with Scam-Or Project.
Screenshots of the User’s Communication with YoBit Support
Below are five screenshots shared by the user, illustrating his attempts to resolve the issue with YoBit’s Technical Support:
Escalation to Scam-Or Project
Having exhausted all other options, the user contacted Scam-Or Project via the Whistleblower Program. After thorough research, Scam-Or Project’s team discovered that such incidents appear to be common on YoBit Crypto Exchange.
As highlighted by Scam-Or Project:
“Today, YoBit deceives our reader, tomorrow they may deceive you.”
Communication Between Scam-Or Project and YoBit
Scam-Or Project then reached out to YoBit Technical Support seeking clarification. The sequence of responses from YoBit’s Technical Support revealed the following issues:
-
Language barrier: YoBit’s support team appeared to misunderstand the initial email. For instance, they misconstrued the term “whistleblower,” interpreting it as a username rather than its actual meaning. A whistleblower refers to an individual exposing illegal or unethical activities within an organisation, including violations of law, gross mismanagement, abuse of authority, waste of funds, or threats to public safety.
Key Findings from User Testimony
Based on the user’s statement, the following details were established:
-
Throughout his entire use of YoBit, none of his bets exceeded 0.05 BTC.
-
He is not seeking the return of any previous winnings; he only wants the 0.38 BTC refunded, which was allegedly taken due to a decimal point alteration error.
-
The user claims he placed a bet of 0.038 BTC but alleges that YoBit’s script deliberately changed it to 0.38 BTC to defraud him.
-
He does not have any screenshots or video recordings of the bet placement. As a loyal YoBit user, he did not anticipate the need to record his screen during transactions.
Call for Resolution
Scam-Or Project encourages YoBit to resolve this issue amicably by refunding the user 0.38 BTC in good faith. Should this occur, this article will be removed immediately.
Final Appeal
Dear YoBit Team, we hope you will address this matter with the seriousness it deserves and provide a resolution to this user’s case.
