Large-Scale PR Efforts Amid Insolvency
Due to insolvency issues in the UK and numerous adverse reports, iPayTotal has recently initiated an extensive public relations campaign. Attractive individuals are used to restore the reputation of this controversial high-risk payment processor.
Real and Fake Representatives
Among these representatives is Sen Kugan, identified as the president of iPayTotal (LinkedIn profile), who is a real person. In contrast, Jason Smith is a fabricated identity. Recently, there was an attempt to verify Jason Smith’s identity and existence. According to a whistleblower, Jason Smith is one of several fake personas utilized by the company, each operating with fraudulent LinkedIn accounts.
Background on iPayTotal’s Operations and Insolvency
The English-Indian payment processor iPayTotal has previously enjoyed stronger credibility. However, the insolvency of iPaytotal Ltd in the United Kingdom severely damaged its standing. Initially, iPayTotal submitted an application for voluntary strike-off to dissolve its UK entity quietly. This attempt was opposed by PayGateway Ltd, a former partner and creditor, which filed claims against iPayTotal.
Court-Ordered Liquidation
In October 2020, the UK High Court of Justice ruled for the company’s compulsory winding-up and commenced insolvency proceedings. This ruling marked a significant embarrassment for iPayTotal.
Current Company Structure and Entities
At present, the UK operations are managed by iPaySolutions Ltd, where Sen Kugan is listed as director and beneficial owner. Additional entities connected to iPayTotal include:
-
iPayTotal OÜ (Estonia)
Director: Aditya Williams -
iPayTotal LLC (Delaware, USA)

Trustpilot Reviews – Patterns Indicating Manipulation
Despite these challenges, iPayTotal maintains an “Excellent” rating on Trustpilot, averaging 4.4 stars. However, a noticeable pattern emerges:
-
Negative 2-star reviews labelling the service as a scam are frequently followed by multiple 5-star reviews.
-
These positive reviewers often have no prior review history and were invited by iPayTotal to submit feedback.
Final Advisory to Merchants
Merchants are urged to exercise caution when dealing with iPayTotal. The combination of insolvency proceedings and reliance on fake identities raises significant concerns regarding trustworthiness.
